The Trip to Bountiful Revival, Starring Cicely Tyson, Cuba Gooding, Jr. & Vanessa Williams, Begins Broadway Run

Horton Foote’s acclaimed drama The Trip to Bountiful begins performances at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on March 30, starring Cicely Tyson, Cuba Gooding Jr., Vanessa Williams, Tom Wopat and Condola Rashad. Directed by Michael Wilson, The Trip to Bountiful opens officially on April 23.

The Trip to Bountiful tells the story of Carrie Watts (Tyson), an elderly woman who longs to return to her hometown of Bountiful, Texas, one final time. Meanwhile, her overprotective son (Gooding Jr.) and domineering daughter-in-law (Williams) try to convince her to stay at home.

The play features set design by Jeff Cowie, costume design by Van Broughton Ramsey, lighting design by Rui Rita and sound design by John Gromada.
